Job summary

Serco Limited at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre is seeking a Cleaning Operative to maintain high cleaning standards across Brook House and Tinsley House. You will follow the Cleaning Schedule, operate vacuums and buffers, keep tools stocked, and support the Facilities Manager with routine duties.

Applicants should have previous cleaning experience and a Basic Health & Safety qualification, with strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is essential.
• A Basic Health & Safety qualification is required.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively at all levels.
• A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to self-motivate and prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning stock within designated areas.
• Comply with Health & Safety Cleaning Procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and wet vac machines.
• Clean all assigned areas according to the Cleaning Schedule.
• Complete additional duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Senior Engineer.
