Job summary

Freedom Care in Weymouth is recruiting a Children and Youth Support Worker to provide person-centred support to children and young people in homes and local communities. The role involves respite, community-based support, and helping with communication, confidence and independence.

You will work flexibly across mornings, evenings and weekends; a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Experience supporting autistic children or children with learning disabilities or SEN/SEND.
• Calm, dependable and relationship-focused approach.
• Good communication, observation and record-writing skills.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
• Applicants without a Level 3 qualification may be considered with strong relevant experience and willingness to develop.

Responsibilities

• Provide respite, short breaks and community-based support.
• Support communication, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Help children access activities and opportunities meaningful to them.
• Follow individual support plans, risk assessments and agreed strategies.
• Complete clear records and communicate with families and managers.
