Job summary

Northamptonshire Children's Trust in Corby is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, manage risk, and deliver interventions centred on the child's wellbeing and lived experience.

Working within a multi-agency environment with health, education, police and partners, you will advocate for children, coordinate safeguarding plans, and ensure decisions protect and stabilise families in line with statutory duties.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker status and Social Work England registration.
• Experience in Children's Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN or Family Support.
• Strong assessment and risk-management skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads within Children's Services.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risk, need, and vulnerability.
• Develop, implement, and review safeguarding plans.
• Manage and reduce risk through safeguarding actions and care planning.
• Provide support, guidance, and advocacy to children and families.
• Ensure the child's voice is central to assessments and decisions.
• Collaborate with multi-agency professionals across health, education, police and safeguarding partners.
• Maintain accurate case recordings, reports, and assessments.
• Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, core groups and court proceedings.
• Promote safety, wellbeing, and long-term stability of children and young people.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and local safeguarding procedures.
