Job summary

ESNEFT is seeking a Cancer Performance Lead to oversee cancer pathway performance, aligning with national standards and driving timely diagnosis and treatment across East Suffolk and North Essex. You will report to the Head of Elective Performance and collaborate with clinical, diagnostic, and corporate teams.

The role requires leadership in performance management, budget oversight, and change management within the NHS framework. A strong track record in improving services is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial procedures including budgetary management
• Understanding of the NHS and current agenda
• Demonstrated knowledge of service improvements and project management
• Risk management and governance
• Knowledge of NHS IT systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, interpretation and presentation of cancer performance information for relevant Trust performance and governance forums, ensuring reporting identifies performance, trends, forecast position, risks, underlying causes and actions
• Provide visible operational leadership for cancer performance, working with specialty operational teams, clinical teams, Cancer Services, diagnostic services and corporate colleagues to address barriers to timely diagnosis and treatment
• Maintain oversight of patients on cancer pathways, focusing on those at risk of delay or milestone exceedance, ensuring actions are identified, progressed and escalated
• Lead development and maintenance of cancer performance management processes, translating performance information into operational action
