Job summary

West Northants Council is recruiting a Benefits Assessment Officer to join the Revenues & Benefits team in Northampton. You will assess Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims, ensuring customers receive entitled support while complying with legislation.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret complex housing and welfare legislation
• Experience in welfare benefits or housing is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing
• Excellent communication with customers and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Assess Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims in compliance with legislation
• Review changes in circumstances and determine entitlement
