Job summary

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust in Lancaster and Morecambe is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support the Home Based Treatment Team. You will work under supervision to assist in psychological assessments and interventions with a range of presentations.

The role involves occasional travel within the community, weekly supervision, and opportunities to participate in service development projects and training. Hybrid working is available to align with service needs.

Qualifications

• Second class honours degree or higher in psychology OR BPS approved conversion degree.
• Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, design and implementation of programme and project work; assist in administration and interpretation of outcome measures, collation and recording of statistics and production of relevant reports.
• Under supervision from a qualified psychologist to assist in the professional and psychological care of clients within the service across all sectors of care by providing basic aspects of psychological assessment and psychological interventions.
• All clinical work and actions to take place under the management and supervision of qualified psychology staff according to an agreed plan and associated goals within parameters.
• Formal supervision with a named member of qualified psychology staff to take place weekly with opportunities for informal guidance.
• Travel is a requirement of this post; clinical activity involves sitting and long periods at a VDU for about 50% of working hours.
• Work completed may feed into the three Home Based Treatment Teams in The Bay, predominately in Lancaster.
