Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with an Alternative Provision in Milton Keynes to recruit a dedicated Class Teacher for a long-term, full-time opportunity.

This nurturing environment supports pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, anxiety, trauma or behavioural challenges, offering a personalised curriculum with smaller class sizes and strong pastoral support. You will plan engaging lessons, build relationships and help learners develop confidence and skills.

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching children or young people in mainstream, SEN or Alternative Provision settings.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of your class.
• Differentiate learning to ensure every pupil can access the curriculum.
• Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent and restorative approaches.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and pastoral teams to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to achieve the best outcomes for every learner.
