Job summary

Lonza is seeking an early-career Scientist to join our R&D team in Cambridge, UK. You will lead client-facing projects designing and optimizing in vitro PBMC-based bioassays to assess immune responses to therapeutics.

The role offers hands-on experience in human immune cell biology, assay development, and data presentation to clients and project teams. A proactive, collaborative mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biological Sciences or Immunology.
• Solid understanding of immunology and bioassay principles.
• Experience with aseptic cell culture and PBMC handling.
• Strong communication and meticulous record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver in vitro cell-based bioassays to assess immune responses to therapeutic candidates across multiple client studies.
• Perform routine isolation, banking, and characterisation of human PBMCs following SOPs.
• Maintain reliable laboratory workflows, troubleshoot routine procedures, and assist in expanding assay capabilities.
• Keep accurate records, compile findings into technical reports, and present results to project teams and clients.
