Job summary

Accord Healthcare in North Harrow, West London, is seeking a BioAnalytical Team Lead (Bioassay Development) on a full-time, permanent basis. The role combines hands-on bioassay work with leadership of a small team to deliver high-quality data for biosimilar and biologics programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree or higher in life sciences with hands-on bioassay experience.
• Strong experience with cell-based assays and ELISA.
• Experience in biosimilar/biologics development and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee lab-based bioassay activities for monoclonal antibodies and other therapeutic proteins.
• Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and execute bioanalytical methods (cell-based potency, ELISA, ADCC, CDC).
• Generate, analyse, interpret and review analytical data in compliance with GLP and procedures.
• Support product characterization and biosimilar development projects.
• Prepare technical reports, protocols and supporting documentation.

BioAnalytical Team Lead (Bioassay Development)

Role: Full-time, permanent

The Role:

The Bioassay Development Team Lead will provide scientific and technical knowledge within the Bioassay Development team while remaining actively involved in laboratory-based assay development, qualification, and testing activities. The role combines hands‑on execution of bioanalytical assays with responsibility for coordinating team activities, ensuring high‑quality data generation, and supporting project delivery for biosimilar and biologics development programs.

• Perform and oversee laboratory-based bioassay activities for monoclonal antibodies and other therapeutic proteins.
• Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and execute bioanalytical methods including:
• Cell-based potency assays
• Cell proliferation assays
• ADCC and CDC assays
• ELISA
• functional assays
• In Process sample support HCP,LPA, HcDNA
• Generate, analyse, interpret, and review analytical data in compliance with GLP and company procedures.
• Support product characterization, comparability assessments, and biosimilar development projects.
• Prepare technical reports, protocols, and supporting documentation.

The Person:

• Degree / Masters / PhD level qualification in life science, biochemistry, pharmacy, chemistry, biomedical science or other technical scientific discipline.
• Strong hands‑on experience with cell‑based assays, ELISA, ADCC, CDC, cell proliferation assays, technologies.
• Good understanding of therapeutic protein and monoclonal antibody structure-function relationships and critical quality attributes.
• Experience in biosimilar or biologics development, including assay development, optimisation, characterization, and analytical testing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous experience leading projects, mentoring scientists, or coordinating laboratory activities is desirable.
