Job summary

Moderna is expanding its Harwell team to advance bioanalytical capabilities for its mRNA portfolio. As a Scientist, you will design and deliver immunogenicity and bioanalytical strategies, collaborating with research, bioanalysis and clinical development teams to generate high‑quality data that accelerates clinical progress.

You will work on ELISA, MSD and cell culture–based assays, shaping regulated studies and integrating informatics to support future pipeline opportunities, with a strong

Qualifications

  • PhD with at least three years of relevant experience, or MSc with five or more years in bioanalytical method development, validation and sample analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP and regulatory expectations in bioanalytical science.
  • Expert knowledge of bioanalytical assay platforms including ECL, immunoassays and related clinical assays.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute phase‑appropriate bioanalytical strategies for regulated clinical programmes.
  • Lead development of immunogenicity assays (ADAs, neutralising Abs) and PK/PD assays.
  • Ensure assays are developed, qualified and validated per timelines and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and optimize assays using ELISA, MSD, cell culture and related tech.
  • Help expand Moderna's internal bioanalytical capabilities for the growing mRNA portfolio.
  • Maintain analytical equipment and SOPs; manage reagents.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define sample journeys and lab manuals.
  • Troubleshoot issues during assay development and regulated activities.
  • Communicate findings clearly within a matrixed global environment.
  • Integrate basic science, bioanalysis and informatics to advance programmes.
