Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare professional with NMC, GPhC, or HCPC registration.
  • Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella vaccinations.

Vaccination UK is part of the European LifeCare Group, a leading provider of vaccination clinics and on-site vaccination programs in the UK, Denmark, The Netherlands, & Sweden.

Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school-aged immunisations, including influenza, to pupils across various counties in England and all boroughs of North London. We also respond to vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks and provide the infant BCG programme to newborns in North London.

Contract: Bank

Working Hours: Flexible (Part-time / Full-time) - Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, from September to December during flu season.

Job Purpose:

The post holder will undertake clinical and administrative duties related to immunisation, primarily delivered on-site for primary and secondary children in schools and community clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the team, organisation, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour during flu season.
  • Promote and support vaccination programs.
  • Attend sites across different locations as directed.
  • Deliver vaccinations safely and effectively.
  • Participate in audits, report clinical incidents, and maintain accurate records.
  • Obtain verbal consent from parents/caregivers and undertake Gillick Competency Assessments.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate.
Experience and Skills:
  • Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella vaccinations.
  • Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare professional with NMC, GPhC, or HCPC registration.
  • Nursing and/or Midwifery qualification.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Desirable).
  • Competency in relevant vaccinations (Desirable).
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working within PGD frameworks and understanding of the National Immunisation schedule.
  • Knowledge of informed consent principles.
  • Computer literate, with basic Excel skills.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Customer service skills, assertiveness, teamwork, and critical thinking.
  • Driving license (Desirable).
