Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board invites applications for a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse based in Bronllys, delivering vaccines across Powys. You will work with Lead Nurses to administer vaccines, assess patients, and promote immunisation in diverse settings with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration and current practice.
• Continued professional development demonstrated.
• Understanding of public health immunisation and vaccine delivery.
• Knowledge of Welsh Government National Immunisation Framework.
• Awareness of safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training completed.
• IT literate with standard software tools.
• Knowledge of National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training.
• Familiar with cold chain management and vaccine storage requirements.
• Understanding of audit, quality improvement and clinical governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of immunisation programmes across Powys.
• Administer vaccines safely in line with guidance.
• Promote vaccine confidence and health-promotion activities.
• Supervise and develop Healthcare Support Worker Immunisers and students.
• Contribute to catch-up campaigns and outbreak response.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality improvement.
