NNU Immigration Limited is looking for an exceptional U.S. Immigration Paralegal to join our growing London team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated law graduate or experienced paralegal who wants to work on sophisticated international matters under the guidance of experienced U.S. immigration attorneys and professionals.

About NNU Immigration

NNU Immigration is a specialist U.S. business immigration law firm based in London, with an international client base and a growing U.S. presence.

We advise individuals, entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and multinational companies on U.S. immigration matters including E-1, E-2, L-1, O-1, H-1B and employment-based green card matters.

We pride ourselves on providing technically excellent, highly personalised advice and an exceptional client experience.

The Role

As a U.S. Immigration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and clients throughout the immigration process.

Key Responsibilities
Legal & Casework
  • Drafting sophisticated and accurate U.S. immigration applications for submission to USCIS and U.S. Embassies and Consulates.
  • Assisting attorneys with investor visa and intracompany transfer matters, including E-2, L-1 and related applications.
  • Managing a caseload with multiple, often competing, deadlines.
  • Taking ownership of assigned matters and ensuring that cases progress efficiently and accurately.
  • Identifying legal, evidentiary and practical issues and escalating them appropriately.
  • Communicating directly with clients by email and telephone and helping to manage client expectations.
  • Drafting clear, legally accurate correspondence and letters of advice.
  • Conducting legal and procedural research using primary sources, USCIS guidance, U.S. Embassy and Consular resources and relevant legal databases.
  • Preparing concise research summaries and recommendations for attorneys.
  • Preparing detailed attendance notes and documenting client communications.
  • Developing and updating firm precedents, questionnaires, template correspondence and supporting documentation.
  • Supporting attorneys with ad hoc research and legal projects.
Case Administration & Client Service
  • Preparing and quality-checking complete application packages for submission.
  • Maintaining highly organized and accurate electronic client files.
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring that case milestones are met.
  • Proofreading legal documents and correspondence to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Maintaining accurate client and contact information within the firm's systems.
  • Preparing meeting agendas, taking meeting notes and following up on action points.
  • Coordinating courier and postage arrangements where required.
  • Managing diary invitations and supporting attorneys with scheduling.
  • Assisting with internal meetings and team projects.
  • Supporting the office manager with ad hoc administrative tasks and special projects.
Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is exceptionally capable, switched-on and motivated to help.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • A university degree, preferably in law or a related discipline.
  • Academically strong — ideally a 2:1 degree or above or equivalent
  • A UK or U.S. legal background, with previous experience in a legal environment highly desirable.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Outstanding written English and an exceptional eye for detail
  • The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with sophisticated clients
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance
  • A genuine sense of ownership and accountability for your work
  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in understanding our clients' businesses
  • Excellent judgment, initiative and problem-solving ability
  • The ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
  • A collaborative, positive and team-oriented approach
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with technology and electronic document systems.
  • A willingness to go beyond the obvious answer and find practical solutions

Previous U.S. immigration experience is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong academic credentials and the intellectual ability and enthusiasm to learn a specialist area of law.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who:

Thinks. Takes ownership. Asks questions. Finds solutions. And cares about doing excellent work.

Why Join NNU Immigration?

At NNU Immigration, you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in a highly specialised and internationally focused area of law while working directly with experienced U.S. immigration attorneys.

Because we are a specialist and growing firm, you will gain exposure to a breadth and depth of work that can be difficult to obtain in a larger organization. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibility and will have the opportunity to develop your legal, client-management and commercial skills.

You will work in a collaborative environment where quality matters, initiative is valued and people are encouraged to contribute ideas.

This role would be particularly well suited to a top UK law graduate or junior legal professional who is looking for substantial practical experience and wants to develop a long-term career in U.S. immigration law.

Location: London — hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in our London office.

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
