An Immigration Department role involves leading cases from initial applications through to Tribunal and upper Court appeals, while coordinating with the Board to meet performance targets. The role requires a practising certificate, Law Society accreditation level 2, and strong management, networking, and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying.
• Registered with the Law Society Immigration & Asylum Law Accreditation - level 2 membership.
• Be committed and highly driven to provide an excellent standard of service to our clients.
• Strong management skills and ability to oversee a team of lawyers and caseworkers.
• Excellent networking and communication skills to market the firm.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to and collaborate with the Board to ensure performance targets are met.
• Responsible for all Immigration work, providing technical guidance to the team.
• Manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers with diverse caseloads.
• Assist with training and development within the department.
• Handle detained clients, asylum, trafficking, and related matters from initial applications to appeals.
• Prepare funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency and draft documents.
• Attend conferences and court hearings as required.
• Support business development and marketing to boost workload.
