Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming secondary school in Castle Bromwich seeking a Hairdressing & Beauty Teacher for an immediate start. The role involves delivering engaging Hairdressing and Beauty lessons to secondary pupils, combining practical instruction with theory and providing progress feedback.

Candidate requirements include UK QTS or FE teaching experience in Hairdressing & Beauty, plus relevant qualifications and strong classroom management.

Qualifications

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or FE teaching experience in Hairdressing & Beauty.
• Hold relevant professional Hairdressing and/or Beauty qualifications.
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of the Hairdressing and Beauty industry.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging vocational lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Hairdressing and Beauty lessons.
• Demonstrate professional techniques safely and effectively.
• Support students in developing practical, vocational and employability skills.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners.
• Maintain a safe and professional practical learning environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Complete marking and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain appropriate records of pupil attainment and progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations within lessons.
• Support pupils who may have SEND or require additional help to access learning.
