TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Southport. You will support pupils with additional needs within the Early Years provision, including non-verbal communication support and strategies to manage challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate has experience in EYFS or SEND settings, a patient and nurturing approach, and a genuine passion for helping young children grow and feel secure.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young children in EYFS or SEND settings.
• Comfortable assisting non-verbal pupils.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours with positive strategies.
• Good understanding of sensory needs and emotional regulation.
• Patient, nurturing, resilient and adaptable.

Responsabilités

• Support pupils within an EYFS SEND setting.
• Assist non-verbal pupils and provide communication support.
• Support pupils with behaviours that challenge.
• Apply positive handling strategies and behaviour management.
• Support communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation.
• Build trusting relationships to help children feel safe and understood.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and support team to meet each child's needs.
