Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a well-established secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience or take the next step towards a career in teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons, support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people in a school, tuition, coaching, mentoring or youth work setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students remain focused on learning activities.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Support students to complete classwork and answer general questions where appropriate.
• Manage classroom routines effectively to create a calm and purposeful learning environment.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and lesson outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Support the wider school community through break, lunch or intervention duties where required.
• Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and promote high expectations.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to the wellbeing of all students.
