Imaging Support Worker (ISW)
We are recruiting ISW’s to work in the Brunel Building at Southmead Hospital within the imaging department:
You will be part of the rotational Plain Film team and will be rostered to work the following:
Week 1 Monday – Friday 0700-1500
Week 2 Monday – Friday 1400-2200
Week 3 Monday – Friday – Relief
Week 4 Monday - Friday 0800-1600
Week 5 Monday – Friday 0900-1700
Week 6 Monday – Friday 0800-1600
You will promote a friendly and welcoming environment greeting patients attending the Imaging department and work alongside other professional Imaging staff. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will assist patients prior, during and post procedure ensuring their privacy and dignity is maintained. You will act as a chaperone, reassure patients, keep the rooms tidy and escort and transport patients as required using wheelchair, beds trollies.
Flexibility is important, there may be an opportunity to work additional hours to ensure we have adequate staffing levels.
There is an opportunity to learn additional skills working towards a band 3.
Please be aware that you will be expected to attend a 2-week induction prior to working in the department.
An Imaging Support Worker is a member of the Team appointed to receive patients into the department and support other Imaging Department staff to assist patients to meet their needs when visiting the Radiology Department.
The post holder will be expected to undertake a broad range of activities under the direction of registered Imaging department staff.

Help to promote and maintain a clean, comfortable and tidy environment in the department, which meets the needs of patients, their relatives/carers and friends.
Contribute to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergoing treatment and/or investigation maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
Escort and transport non-acute patients with no treatment in progress and/or their relatives/carers to other wards and departments within the Trust ,via wheelchair, beds and trolleys.
Be aware of the importance of good health and the health education needs of patients as identified within individual care plans.
