Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Imaging Assistants to support patients throughout their diagnostic journey and assist the clinical team in delivering high-quality care. The role involves transporting patients between Imaging departments and assisting across Ultrasound, CT and MRI within a busy, expanding service.

The successful candidate will participate in an induction programme, gain venepuncture/cannulation training, and support the Care Certificate process.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs per week across seven days, Permanent position with full and part time hours available, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Imaging Department as Imaging Assistants. We recently opened our new Scanning Centre in May 2026 and continue to provide diagnostic services through our Community Diagnostic Centres at Lloyds Court and Whitehouse Park. Interview date 14 and 15 October 2026 As an Imaging Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey and assisting the clinical team in delivering high-quality care. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Safely transporting patients to and from Imaging departments.
• Providing high-quality care and support throughout the patient's imaging journey.
• Assisting within a variety of imaging modalities, including Ultrasound, CT and MRI.
• Undertaking housekeeping and administrative duties to support departmental functions.

• Support to complete the Care Certificate.
• As this role requires travel between multiple sites, a full driving licence and access to transport are essential.
• To work across all modalities within Imaging such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Xray, Mobile Xray, Theatres, A&E, Interventional Radiology, and Fluoroscopy
• Perform intermediate clinical procedures, cannulation, as delegated by a registered professional.
