Job summary

Delta Capita seeks a Valuations Specialist focused on private illiquid credit positions. You will own independent valuation processes, challenge third‑party marks, build robust valuation models, and present insights to the Valuation Committee.

You will oversee governance, drive scenario analyses, and ensure clear audit trails across the valuation book. A CFA is preferred; hybrid London contract with scope to contribute across private markets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a valuation function
  • Valuation experience with a genuine credit focus from banking, independent valuation, or alternatives
  • Experience valuing illiquid and private positions across bonds, loans, and private equity
  • Strong modelling capability to build and maintain valuation models
  • Sound understanding of valuation risk and scenario analysis
  • Ability to challenge external providers and present to a Valuation Committee
  • CFA preferred; formal accounting qualification not required

Responsibilities

  • Valuation modelling: Build and maintain models for illiquid credit and private positions; adapt as positions/markets evolve.
  • Valuation risk and scenario analysis: Identify key risks and sensitivities; run scenarios to bound outcomes.
  • Third-party provider oversight: Manage external valuation firms; review methodologies and resolve differences with internal view.
  • Corporate restructures: Value positions through restructurings where capital structure and timing drive outcome.
  • Valuation Committee: Prepare materials and present the basis of marks and defend judgements to senior audience.
  • Governance and documentation: Maintain clear audit trail behind valuations for stakeholders and controls.
