Job summary

NewDay is seeking a Specialist, Impairment Reporting to own the monthly IFRS 9 impairment reporting, delivering accurate ECL results and insights to senior stakeholders. You will work across Credit Risk, Finance and Collections to understand portfolio performance and impairment drivers.

You will use Python and SQL to interrogate data, challenge results and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment. This role offers Hybrid working arrangements in the UK.

Qualifications

• IFRS 9 impairment reporting, ECL forecasting, and analytics.
• Strong analytical skills with Python and SQL to interrogate data and generate insight.
• Understanding impairment drivers and portfolio performance in lending.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Organised and proactive with multi-priority management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly IFRS 9 impairment reporting process and deliver accurate ECL results.
• Partner with Credit Risk, Finance and Collections to explain impairment movements and support decisions.
• Assess impact of lending and collections strategies on impairment outcomes and identify trends.
• Support enhancement of impairment reporting, including model parameter updates and validations.
• Use Python and SQL to challenge results and provide visibility to senior stakeholders.
