Job summary

GreenSquareAccord Limited in Gloucester is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse. The role focuses on risk identification, safety planning, and advocacy across legal and housing processes to safeguard victims.

You will work with partners across health, police, housing, probation and children's services, ensuring sensitive, confidential case handling and timely updates on risk and safeguarding actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist IDVA support to victims of domestic abuse, including high-risk cases.
• Undertake risk assessment
• Develop tailored safety plans reflecting victims' circumstances
• Advocate and support victims through criminal justice pathways and housing interventions
• Coordinate with health, police, housing, probation, children’s services and community agencies
• Maintain confidential records and timely risk safeguarding updates
• Explain options clearly and support victims to understand implications of decisions
• Deliver practical support such as signposting to specialist services and addressing barriers to safety
• Represent victims in multi-agency meetings with a victim-first approach
