Job summary

The AA is seeking an Identity & Access Specialist to join its Group Security team in a hybrid role based in the UK. You will work closely with the Identity & Access Manager to strengthen secure identity controls across a complex enterprise landscape.

Bring deep IAM experience with Microsoft Entra ID, CA, MFA, SSO and identity governance. You will influence design, governance and risk decisions while delivering secure, scalable identity solutions for colleagues, partners and systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on IAM expertise across enterprise environments.
• Expertise with Microsoft identity technologies, especially Entra ID, CA and MFA.
• Ability to design, review and implement secure identity solutions.
• Experience in governance, risk and compliance within an enterprise.
• Credible stakeholder management and ability to influence senior technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME across Identity & Access Management, designing and assuring secure identity controls.
• Provide guidance on Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, SSO, federation and privileged access.
• Collaborate with Technology, Architecture, Platform, Risk and Compliance to review solutions and drive secure change.
• Contribute to IAM standards, governance docs and audit evidence to strengthen security posture.
• Support identity risk assessments, investigations and remediation with practical recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to mature IAM processes and controls.

Identity is central to cyber security, and at The AA you will play a key role in protecting the technology that underpins how colleagues, partners and systems securely connect and operate.

As our Identity & Access Specialist, you will be a trusted technical expert within Group Security, working closely with the Identity & Access Manager and senior colleagues across Cyber Security, Technology and Architecture. You will bring deep IAM expertise to strengthen secure solutions, improve governance and reduce risk across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted subject matter expert across Identity & Access Management, supporting the design, enhancement and assurance of secure identity and privileged access controls
• Provide technical guidance across Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, SSO, federation and privileged access, helping teams deliver secure and scalable solutions
• Partner with Technology, Architecture, Platform, Risk and Compliance teams to review solutions, provide pragmatic security advice and support the successful delivery of change
• Contribute to the development of IAM standards, technical guidance, governance documentation and audit evidence, helping strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture
• Support identity related risk assessments, investigations and remediation activities, providing practical recommendations that balance security, operational effectiveness and user experience
• Identify opportunities to improve IAM processes, controls and ways of working, contributing to the continued maturity of The AA’s identity capability

What Do I Need?

You’ll Bring

• Strong hands-on technical expertise across Identity & Access Management, Identity Governance and Privileged Access Management within a complex enterprise environment, with the ability to assess, design and improve identity security controls
• Demonstrable expertise across Microsoft identity technologies, particularly Microsoft Entra ID, with practical knowledge of Conditional Access, MFA, federation, SSO, identity governance and privileged access management
• Experience applying IAM expertise to technical solutions and change, working with Architecture, Platform and Technology teams to provide practical guidance, challenge designs and support secure implementation
• Strong understanding of identity governance, security risk and compliance, including developing standards, strengthening controls, supporting assurance activities and producing evidence within a governed enterprise environment
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to build trusted relationships and influence technical specialists, managers and senior stakeholders through clear and pragmatic security advice
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, able to investigate technical challenges, understand associated business and security risk and recommend balanced solutions, supported by relevant IAM or cyber security certifications or equivalent demonstrable expertise
