Job summary

The AA is seeking an Identity & Access Manager to lead the evolution of our enterprise IAM capability, driving governance, technical direction and measurable security outcomes across a complex technology landscape.

Working closely with senior technology and business leaders, architects and our IAM operations team, you will shape the IAM roadmap and ensure identity services remain secure, scalable and aligned with the needs of a modern organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong cyber security expertise with significant depth in Identity & Access Management within complex enterprise environments, combining practical technical capability with the ability to shape IAM strategy and architecture.
• Proven experience leading or driving IAM transformation, improving capability, governance, architecture or operating models rather than solely supporting an established IAM environment.
• Strong hands-on technical experience across modern and legacy identity environments, particularly Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID migration, with the ability to translate technical discovery, due diligence and architectural decisions into a scalable identity roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing transformation and maturity of The AA's Identity & Access Management capability, defining strategy, governance, standards and technical direction
• Shape and deliver the IAM roadmap, ensuring identity services support business priorities, regulatory expectations and evolving cyber security risks
• Act as a senior authority for identity security, influencing executive stakeholders, technology leaders, architects, suppliers and delivery teams to drive secure outcomes
• Lead the development of modern identity capabilities across privileged access, identity governance, Zero Trust, non-human identities and cloud-based authentication
• Establish effective governance, assurance and reporting that demonstrates control effectiveness while driving continual improvement across the IAM estate
• Lead and develop a growing IAM capability, coaching technical specialists and creating an environment where expertise, accountability and innovation can thrive

We are looking for an Identity & Access Manager to lead the evolution of our enterprise IAM capability, driving governance, technical direction and measurable security outcomes across a complex technology landscape.

What Do I Need?

You’ll Bring

• Proven experience leading or driving IAM transformation, improving capability, governance, architecture or operating models rather than solely supporting an established IAM environment
• Strong hands-on technical experience across modern and legacy identity environments, particularly Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID migration, with the ability to translate technical discovery, due diligence and architectural decisions into a scalable identity roadmap
• Deep knowledge of modern IAM technologies and principles, including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, identity governance, privileged access management, Zero Trust, cloud identity services and non-human identities such as service accounts, workload and machine identities
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the credibility to engage senior business and technology leaders, architects and technical teams while balancing cyber security requirements with commercial and operational priorities
• Leadership capability to develop and coach technical specialists while remaining close to technical delivery, whether gained through formal people management or as a senior IAM specialist ready to step into your first people leadership role
