Job summary

A local authority in Scotland is seeking a temporary support ICT technician to assist with first line repairs and maintenance of ICT equipment across various locations in North Lanarkshire. The position requires HNC in an ICT or Electrical related subject, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Overview

Located in Civic Centre, Motherwell / Field Services you will provide a support ICT service to all establishments and locations in North Lanarkshire. Your duties will include first line repair on all ICT equipment, cyclical maintenance and safety testing, operation of ICT equipment, assisting with production of ICT materials and maintaining ITSM call logging system.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first line repair on ICT equipment across multiple establishments and locations within North Lanarkshire.
  • Conduct cyclical maintenance and safety testing of ICT equipment.
  • Operate ICT equipment and assist with production of ICT materials.
  • Maintain the ITSM call logging system and support service delivery as part of a peripatetic team.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • HNC (or equivalent) in an ICT/Electrical related subject, with experience in operation and maintenance of computing hardware and software.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative; able to work closely and responsibly with children.
  • HND (or equivalent) in an ICT related subject desirable; experience with ICT in education and computer network environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel across the local authority as the role is peripatetic; PVG Scheme membership required through Disclosure Scotland and satisfactory membership check prior to commencing.
  • Full Current Driving Licence required prior to commencing.
Contract and eligibility

This position is temporary until August 2026.
