Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking an ICT Systems Engineer to own the infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments in Chorley. The role offers a 9-day fortnight with every second Friday off and a 12:30pm finish on Fridays you work, plus home working and a generous holiday allowance.

You will lead ICT initiatives, manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Windows Server and Active Directory, design solutions to meet business needs, and drive the technology roadmap

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Experience running hybrid (on-premise and cloud) infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the ICT infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Acting as technical lead for ICT, setting direction and making key technical decisions.
• Designing systems and solutions to meet business requirements.
• Delivering ICT projects from planning through to implementation.
• Shaping the technology roadmap and driving service improvements.
• Owning disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements.
• Managing relationships with IT vendors and suppliers.

ICT Systems Engineer

Location - Chorley

Are you an ICT Systems Engineer who wants to own the infrastructure, not just support it? Do you have strong hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server? Would you like a working pattern that gives you every other Friday off?

What's in it for you?

• £38,000 - £45,000 basic salary
• 9-day fortnight - every second Friday off

What will you be doing?

• Taking ownership of the company's ICT infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments
• Acting as technical lead for ICT, setting direction and making key technical decisions
• Managing and developing Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Windows Server and Active Directory
• Designing systems and solutions to meet business requirements
• Delivering ICT projects from planning through to implementation
• Shaping the technology roadmap and driving service improvements
• Managing identity and access, and supporting Cyber Essentials compliance
• Owning disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements
• Managing relationships with IT vendors and suppliers

Where you'll be doing it?

You’ll be joining a long‑established engineering and environmental services business with a strong track record in the nuclear sector. Founded in the 1980s, the business now employs around 200 people across three business areas, working at sites across the UK from its head office in Chorley. The role is office based Monday to Thursday (07:30 - 16:45), with working Fridays (07:30 - 12:30) done from home.

What you'll need:

• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Azure
• Solid Windows Server and Active Directory experience
• Experience managing devices with Intune
• Experience running hybrid (on-premise and cloud) infrastructure
• Experience acting as technical lead for ICT systems
• Experience planning and maintaining disaster recovery

• Infrastructure ownership, system design and solution design
• Project delivery and technology roadmap planning
• Service improvement
• Cyber Essentials and identity & access management
• Vendor management and business continuity planning
