Job summary

Bernicia Group is seeking a Service Desk Trainee to join its ICT team. Based in Ashington or Durham, the role supports colleagues with IT help, logs incidents, and guides users on common tools like Microsoft 365. It offers a development path with experienced mentors and a focus on delivering excellent service.

You’ll start with a recently completed degree and a genuine interest in ICT. A driving licence is required for business travel, and the role includes flexible home-working up to two days

Qualifications

• Recently completed degree in a related discipline.
• Interest in ICT and developing knowledge of Service Desk systems.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a welcoming first point of contact for colleagues who need ICT help.
• Receive, log, prioritise and update incidents and service requests.
• Ask questions, gather information and perform initial troubleshooting.
• Provide guidance on the use of common workplace technology (e.g., Microsoft 365).
• Escalate more complex issues to colleagues or Service Desk Supervisor.
• Help prepare and configure equipment and inventory activity.
• Build positive working relationships across the business.
• Contribute to Service Desk guidance and knowledge articles.
• Share ideas for improving Service Desk processes and ICT systems.
