Job summary

Altered Resourcing Ltd. is seeking an experienced IBM i / iSeries specialist to drive migration of IBM i workloads to IBM Cloud.

The role involves assessing the current IBM i estate, shaping migration strategy, and providing hands-on support throughout planning, testing and cutover. The ideal candidate has strong IBM i / iSeries / AS400 experience, proven IBM i cloud migration exposure, and familiarity with PowerVS, DB2 for i, RPG/RPGLE and CL.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with IBM i / iSeries / AS400
Proven experience delivering or supporting IBM i migrations to IBM Cloud
Experience with IBM Power Systems / Power Virtual Server (PowerVS) would be highly desirable

Responsibilities

Assess the existing IBM i / iSeries / AS400 environment and understand the current estate
Support the migration of IBM i workloads to IBM Cloud
Help define the migration strategy, architecture and approach
Assess applications, dependencies, databases, interfaces and integrations
Identify potential migration risks, challenges and dependencies
Work with technical teams and stakeholders to plan and execute the migration
Support migration planning, testing and cutover activities
Provide hands-on technical expertise throughout the process
Advise on opportunities to modernise the existing IBM i environment as part of the move to the cloud
