Job summary

Fred Perry Ltd in London is seeking an experienced RPG Developer to design, develop, test and maintain IBM i applications using RPG, CL and SQL. You will optimize DB2/400 data structures and integrate with ERP/CRM systems, working closely with analysts and vendors.

You will also participate in system upgrades, ensure security and data integrity, and document specifications and change logs while supporting end users and training on IBM i–based applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT or software engineering.
• Proven experience with RPG/ILE programming on IBM i.
• Knowledge of DB2/400 and DDS-based files.
• Experience with change management tools and modern development environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance IBM i applications to meet changing business needs.
• Design, develop, test and maintain RPG and CL programs on IBM i.
• Develop SQL queries and data access routines; optimize DB2/400 schemas.
• Collaborate with analysts, users and vendors to refine requirements.
• Provide system analysis, debugging and performance improvements.
• Document specifications and change logs; support integrations with ERP/CRM and web services.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations and modernization projects.
• Ensure security and data integrity; assist training and support.
