Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patients and staff.
• Awareness of equality and valuing diversity within the role.
• Basic IT skills and Windows navigation.
• Flexible and able to work independently.
• Note-taking abilities and being an effective team member.
• NHS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers.
• Respond to internal and external telephone enquiries in a timely and helpful manner.
• Be conversant with the Patient Administration System (PAS) and departmental electronic systems.
• Ensure information relating to patients and staff is accurately documented and confidential.
• Plan and prioritise workload and arrange meetings for the IBD team.
• Book appointments for blood monitoring clinic.
• Support home care prescriptions and Brooke Transfusion Unit listings.
• Populate clinic list for virtual biologic clinics.
