Job summary

EDF Energy's HPC project in Somerset seeks an I&C Engineer to support commissioning and plant readiness on one of the UK's most significant energy projects.

You will work on Siemens SPPA-T2000 based I&C systems, assess design changes, and contribute to testing, verification and documentation to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You'll collaborate with EDF and Siemens specialists across design, commissioning and operations, maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards throughout lifecycle.

Qualifications

• A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with complex I&C systems in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge and practical experience of Siemens SPPA-T2000 technology.
• A solid understanding of process signals, logic processing and alarm management.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting on-site modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform.
• Assessing how proposed changes affect hardware, software and plant operation.
• Producing and updating I&C programming for AS620 Tec4, OM690, ALS and MOP applications.
• Carrying out verification and validation activities.
• Supporting functional testing and investigation of issues identified during testing.
• Updating engineering records, diagrams and technical documentation.
• Working closely with commissioning, electrical and system engineering teams.
• Supporting Siemens specialists during detailed design activities.
• Highlighting risks, opportunities and delivery challenges to support project success.
