Job summary

Assystem seeks a qualified electrical commissioning engineer to support a major nuclear project at Hinkley Point C. You will perform testing, verification and readiness activities across LV distribution and power systems in a highly regulated environment.

Your role includes coordinating with mechanical, process and I&C teams, managing documentation, and ensuring safety rules and BS 7671 standards are followed. The role offers hybrid working and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong commissioning experience in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of LV electrical systems, testing and maintenance.
• Understanding of electrical isolation, switching procedures and safety rules.
• Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and BS 7671 standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning activities across LV electrical distribution and power systems.
• Commission transformers, switchboards, UPS systems and large battery installations.
• Apply nuclear, electrical and industrial safety requirements during commissioning activities.
• Manage commissioning documentation, configuration control and technical records accurately.
• Analyse test results and resolve deviations with stakeholders.
• Support commissioning hold points and nuclear safety compliance requirements.
• Coordinate activities with mechanical, process and I&C teams.
• Conduct system walkdowns, punch-list closure and readiness verification.
• Capture operational experience feedback for programme improvement.
• Support development of junior engineers and commissioning technicians onsite.
