Are you an experienced automotive professional with a passion for used cars and team leadership? Wessex Garages is opening a new site on Penarth Road, Cardiff, and we are seeking a Used Car Manager to lead our used car operations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a trusted, forward-thinking motor group during an exciting expansion phase. If you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to make an impact, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily operations of the used car department, including sourcing, pricing, appraisals, and vehicle presentation.
2. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team to achieve targets and deliver excellent customer service.
3. Report on departmental performance, KPIs, and stock levels to senior management.
4. Ensure all vehicles comply with safety, quality standards, and legal requirements.
5. Maintain compliance with sales processes and industry regulations.
6. Develop strategies to increase sales and profitability, including lead management and sourcing through service teams.
7. Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Proven experience in the motor trade, especially in used car sales or management.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to energize and coach a team.
3. Excellent communication skills and a focus on customer satisfaction.
4. Market awareness and pricing strategy knowledge.
5. Organized, efficient, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
6. Full UK driving license.

Additional Information:

• Working hours: 45.5 hours/week, Mon–Sat, with a day off in lieu and one late shift weekly. Sunday work required in March and September.
• Holiday entitlement: 22 days + bank holidays, increasing with service.
