Job summary

Finnebrogue is a UK-based food producer with Downpatrick, Northern Ireland facilities. The Hygiene Supervisor will oversee daily hygiene team activities, ensure cleaning schedules meet food safety standards, and support audits across production and non-production areas.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and cleaning processes.
• Experience preparing for and supporting audits (e.g. BRCGS, customer, or regulatory audits).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and motivate a team.
• Competent in completing records, reports, and audit documentation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous supervisory experience within hygiene, food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar production environment

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the hygiene team.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed in line with procedures and food safety requirements.
• Conduct routine hygiene inspections and verification checks across production and non-production areas.
• Support and participate in internal, customer, BRCGS, retailer, and regulatory audits.
• Maintain accurate cleaning records, audit documentation, and hygiene reports.
• Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Train, coach, and develop hygiene operatives.
• Monitor team performance, attendance, and productivity; conduct performance reviews.
