Job summary

Greencore Group is seeking a Hygiene operative at our Manton Wood site to perform hygiene tasks, deep cleaning, and equipment checks to maintain high food safety standards. You will follow COSHH guidelines, log activities, and report any risks to the Hygiene Manager.

A strong health and safety culture is essential. Role entails 3 nights per week (Thu-Sat) 05:30–05:00 with competitive pay (£14.24/hr) and overtime after 48 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse hygiene duties.
• Adherence to approved hygiene procedures; logbook entries.
• Promotes health, safety & environmental awareness.
• Good reading and writing communication skills.
• Manual handling experience desired.
• Experience in food production is helpful.
• Cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene tasks including cleaning of equipment and areas to required standards.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks as needed.
• Use chemicals safely following COSHH regulations.
• Deep clean areas per schedule and as required.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to appropriate personnel.
• Follow work instructions and report issues to Hygiene Manager.
• Carry out hygiene activities in line with daily requirements to maintain operations.
• Identify opportunities for sustainable improvements to support the shift plan.

£14.24 Per Hour, overtime paid at 1.25 hours after 48 hours

What you'll be doing

• In this role, you will undertake hygiene tasks including the cleaning of equipment and areas to the required hygiene standard.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks to the appropriate personnel
• Use all chemicals appropriately and safely according to the COSHH regulations
• Deep cleaning of relevant areas following the cleaning schedule, as and when required
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the correct personnel
• Follow work instructions highlighting any issues to the Hygiene Manager
• Carry out hygiene activities when needed in line with daily requirements ensuring operational integrity
• Promote a good health, safety and environmental culture within the department Identify and highlight any opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance in support of the overall shift plan

What we’re looking for

• Proficient in performing general warehouse hygiene duties
• Strict adherence to written approved procedures for hygiene tasks, with attention to completing logbook entries by company standards
• Promotion of a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within the department
• Effective communication abilities, both in reading and writing
• Experience working in a role involving manual handling desired
• Experience of working in a food production environment is desired, but not always essential
• Cleaning experience preferred but not essential
