Job summary

Greencore Bow in London is seeking a Hygiene Operative for a full-time, 4on 4off night shift (19:00–07:00). You will clean equipment and areas to required hygiene standards, review equipment for damage and handle chemicals safely under COSHH rules.

The role requires warehouse hygiene experience, logbook discipline, and strong health and safety awareness, plus good communication. Food production experience is valued; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Proficient in performing general warehouse hygiene duties.
• Strict adherence to written approved procedures for hygiene tasks, with attention to logbooks.
• Promotion of health, safety and environmental awareness within the department.
• Effective reading and writing communication skills.
• Experience with manual handling desired.
• Experience in a food production environment is desired, but not essential.
• Cleaning experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene tasks including cleaning of equipment and areas to hygiene standards.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks.
• Use chemicals safely following COSHH regulations.
• Deep cleaning of relevant areas per the cleaning schedule.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the correct personnel.
• Follow work instructions and report issues to the Hygiene Manager.
• Carry out hygiene activities as needed to maintain operations.
• Promote health, safety and environmental culture and identify sustainability improvements.

What you’ll be doing:

• In this role, you will undertake hygiene tasks including the cleaning of equipment and areas to the required hygiene standard.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks to the appropriate personnel
• Use all chemicals appropriately and safely according to the COSHH regulations
• Deep cleaning of relevant areas following the cleaning schedule, as and when required
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the correct personnel
• Follow work instructions highlighting any issues to the Hygiene Manager
• Carry out hygiene activities when needed in line with daily requirements ensuring operational integrity
• Promote a good health, safety and environmental culture within the department Identify and highlight any opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance in support of the overall shift plan

What we’re looking for:

• Proficient in performing general warehouse hygiene duties
• Strict adherence to written approved procedures for hygiene tasks, with attention to completing logbook entries by company standards
• Promotion of a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within the department
• Effective communication abilities, both in reading and writing
• Experience working in a role involving manual handling desired
• Experience of working in a food production environment is desired, but not always essential
• Cleaning experience preferred but not essential
