Job summary

Greencore, a leading UK food producer, is seeking a Hygiene operative at Manton Wood. You will perform general warehouse hygiene duties, clean equipment, and follow COSHH regulations to maintain food safety standards. The role involves night shifts and working across set days with overtime after limits.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene tasks including cleaning of equipment and areas to required standard.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks to appropriate personnel.
• Use chemicals safely according to COSHH regulations.
• Deep clean relevant areas following the schedule.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to correct personnel.
• Follow work instructions and raise any issues with Hygiene Manager.
• Carry out hygiene activities in line with daily requirements.
• Support sustainable improvements to quality and performance on shift.

Job description

Shift Pattern - 3 nights per week,, working Thursday to Saturday 05:30 - 05:00

Rate of pay - £14.24 Per Hour, overtime paid at 1.25 hours after 48 hours

Our Manton Wood site has a gym, restaurant with hot food and a staff shop available to all our colleagues.

What you'll be doing:

• In this role, you will undertake hygiene tasks including the cleaning of equipment and areas to the required hygiene standard.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks to the appropriate personnel
• Use all chemicals appropriately and safely according to the COSHH regulations
• Deep cleaning of relevant areas following the cleaning schedule, as and when required
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the correct personnel
• Follow work instructions highlighting any issues to the Hygiene Manager
• Carry out hygiene activities when needed in line with daily requirements ensuring operational integrity
• Promote a good health, safety and environmental culture within the department Identify and highlight any opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance in support of the overall shift plan

What we're looking for:

• Proficient in performing general warehouse hygiene duties
• Strict adherence to written approved procedures for hygiene tasks, with attention to completing logbook entries by company standards
• Promotion of a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within the department
• Effective communication abilities, both in reading and writing
• Experience working in a role involving manual handling desired
• Experience of working in a food production environment is desired, but not always essential
• Cleaning experience preferred but not essential
