Job summary

Kepak Group in Merthyr Tydfil is hiring for a full-time Hygiene Team member, working 6:30am–7:00pm on a 3-on/3-off rotation, at £12.90 per hour.

You will keep the production and office areas clean, ensure health and safety standards, and support a culture of hygiene across a busy site.

Responsibilities

• Keep the factory clean and tidy while meeting health and safety standards.
• Deep clean all machinery ready for production.
• Clean belts, framework, walls, floors, ceilings, lights.
• Safe use of cleaning materials and chemicals, per training.
• Maintain staff areas by cleaning and disinfecting toilets, floors, locker rooms and corridors.
• Waste disposal, sweep and wash floors and walls, adhere to PPE policies.
• Report risks or unsafe or out-of-spec product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a manager.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisor/Team Leaders.

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfilhas combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

Our Merthyr site are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly Hygiene team. This is a full time, permanent position, working 6.30am to 7.00pm - 3 days on / 3 days on £12.90 per hour.

Responsible for ensuring the standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the production and office environments are achieved on a daily basis, ensuring safe use of industrial cleaning equipment at all times.

As part of Hygiene Team your daily tasks will include :

• Keeping the factory clean and tidy whilst meeting health and safety standards.
• Deep cleaning all machinery ready for production.
• Cleaning belts, hand cleaning, framework, walls, floor, ceilings, lights.
• Safe use of cleaning materials and chemicals, in line with training.
• You will be required to maintain the staff areas by keeping them hygienically clean and tidy - this will include disinfecting the toilet areas., washing the floors, locker rooms and corridors.

• Waste disposal, sweep floors/ wash floors and walls and adhere to PPE policies;
• Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
• Effective communication with Supervisor/Team Leaders.

• 22 days annual leave per year(after probation).
