Job summary

Kepak is recruiting a HR Advisor for its Merthyr Tydfil site. This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours, Monday to Friday) is site-based with some home working as required. You will join a production-focused HR team and work closely with the HR Manager on engagement, employee relations and CI projects.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and experienced in providing proactive HR support, confidentiality and strong IT skills in HRIS, Word, Excel and SharePoint.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification preferred.
• Experience delivering HR services in a production environment.
• Strong IT skills with HRIS and Office packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR expertise across the employee lifecycle to a production site.
• Support the HR Manager with Employee Engagement, ER and CI projects.
• Deliver day-to-day HR operations including disciplinary and grievance handling.
• Assist with absence and performance management and change consultations.
• Contribute to site and group strategic HR projects.

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our friendly and hard working team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Advisor, who would like to work for a leading food manufacturer in a dynamic and production focused role, with operational excellence at the heart of what we do.

As well as delivering on the day to day HR operations and job description, the HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Manager to support the site HR strategy, including; employee engagement, employee relations and CI projects.

This is a permanent, full time position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, site based with home working available as required.

Role Purpose

You will work closely with the HR Manager and key stakeholders within the business to provide HR expertise and support in all areas of the employee lifecycle. Support the ongoing development of the HR function within a production driven environment whilst contributing to major change projects across the site. The role will deliver effective day to day support in all areas of the employee life cycle including disciplinary & grievance, absence & performance management, and consultations (including redundancy, changes to terms and conditions etc), along with participating in site/group strategic projects.

• CIPD qualified preferred
• Passionate about delivering a proactive, operationally focused and value-add HR service to the business
• Must be discreet, diplomatic and treat information within the department as highly confidential
• Meticulous attention to detail essential, including proofing and editing
• Sound understanding of integrity and compliance
• Communicates well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels (being able to speak fluently in two or more languages would be an advantage)
• Ability to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlines
• Resilience when faced with ambiguity and changing priorities whilst maintaining a positive, 'can-do' attitude
• Ability to manage own workload effectively

• Strong IT skills in HRIS and Office packages (particularly Word, SharePoint, Excel)
