Job summary

Staffline is recruiting a Hygiene Operative for its leading food manufacturing site in Huntingdon. This full-time role operates on a rotating shift pattern from 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, offering clear progression and training.

You will clean equipment, maintain high hygiene standards, store chemicals safely, support waste reduction, and assist with line changeovers while working with hygiene, production and quality teams. Previous experience helps but is not essential as full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning/hygiene experience preferred but not essential.
• Full training provided.
• Ability to work in a food production environment wearing PPE.
• Good English reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean production equipment and maintain hygiene to high standards.
• Maintain hygiene standards across the factory, keeping areas audit-ready.
• Store, handle and use cleaning chemicals safely following health procedures.
• Process waste streams and support recycling initiatives.
• Assist with production line changeovers and housekeeping tasks.

Job description

Hygiene Operative for our client's leading food manufacturing site, which specialises in producing high-quality cooked and prepared food products for major retailers, food-service providers, and customers across the UK.

Staffline is recruiting Hygiene Operatives in

Huntingdon.

This is a full-time role working a convenient rotating shift pattern. The hours of work are:

6am to 2pm

Followed by 2 weeks

2pm to 10pm

Your Time at Work

As a Hygiene Operative your duties include:

• Clean production equipment and machinery in line with cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures to maintain high food safety standards.
• Maintain excellent hygiene standards across the factory, ensuring all work areas are kept clean, safe, and audit-ready at all times.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored, handled, and used correctly while following all health and safety procedures.
• Process waste streams correctly and support environmental initiatives, including waste reduction and recycling activities.
• Assist with production line changeovers and housekeeping duties to minimise downtime and support operational efficiency.
• Support production teams when required and work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and values.

• Standing and walking for long periods during the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle cleaning equipment and materials.
• Working in a food production environment while wearing PPE.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and maintain attention to detail throughout the shift.
• Well organised with the ability to manage cleaning schedules and complete tasks to a high standard.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and take responsibility for maintaining hygiene standards.
• Team player who can work effectively with colleagues across hygiene, production, and quality departments.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
• Good English reading skills to understand cleaning schedules, safety information, and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety.

Previous cleaning, hygiene, or production experience is preferred but not essential as full training is provided.
