Job summary

Greencore at Manton Wood is seeking a Hygiene Operative to carry out routine hygiene tasks and manage cleaning equipment. You will maintain materials, follow safety rules, and support GMP standards while keeping production areas clean and compliant.

You will work in a busy, fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy, teamwork, and meeting tight deadlines. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow within Greencore.

Qualifications

• Must have high standards and be highly accurate.
• Good communication and teamwork within Hygiene Operatives and related roles.
• Maths and English at Entry Level 3 or above.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hygiene tasks as per rota in assigned areas.
• Prepare and be responsible for cleaning equipment used for hygiene duties.
• Maintain and replenish stocks of cleaning materials.
• Operate and care for cleaning machinery and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and hygiene standards.
• Keep log books up to date and maintain clean, debris-free areas.
• Some roles may involve disassembly/reassembly of machinery parts for cleaning.

Rate of Pay

- £14.20 per hour, overtime paid at x1.25 hrs after 48 hours

What you will be doing

• Carry out all hygiene tasks required by the hygiene rota in each respective area that has been assigned.
• Prepare and be responsible for any cleaning equipment used to carry out hygiene duties
• Maintain, replenish and be accountable for stocks of cleaning materials
• Be fully conversant with the operation and care of any mechanical cleaning equipment used in conjunction with your hygiene duties
• Be fully conversant with the safe preparation, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants used in conjunction with your hygiene duties
• Be fully conversant with the requirements of both the MCA and FDA with respect to Good Manufacturing Practice and hygiene standards
• Carry out all hygiene tasks in accordance with written approved procedures ensuring all log books entries (when required) are completed to company standard
• Ensure all areas are kept clean and free of any debris

Some roles in the hygiene team would require you to clean and then re-assemble all removable parts of machinery and depositors in the production area.

• Good communication skills are key - you will work as part of the team including Hygiene Operatives, Steam Clean Operatives and other Strip Down Operatives.
• Maths (Entry Level 3 and above) and English (Entry Level 3 and above)
• Have all round cleaning experience
• Be able to work on own initiative and manage own time
• Be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and management team Have good knowledge of H&S and CoSHH
