Job summary

Samworth Brothers’ Soreen site in Manchester is seeking a Site Hygiene Manager to lead and develop the hygiene team across production and adjacent areas. You will drive cleaning programmes, validate methods, and safeguard product integrity through rigorous HACCP, BRC and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading hygiene teams in food manufacturing.

• Health & safety, quality systems and cost control understanding.
• Advanced Food Hygiene qualification and HACCP Level 3.

Job description

As Site Hygiene Manager, you will lead and develop the hygiene team, ensuring all production and peripheral areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards defined within the Soreen Hygiene Management System. You will play a crucial role in protecting product integrity, driving continuous improvement and supporting operational efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Hygiene Team Leaders and Hygiene Operatives to build a high-performing hygiene function.
• Develop, implement and monitor daily, weekly and deep cleaning programmes across the site.
• Validate and verify cleaning methods and hygiene procedures to ensure consistent, effective cleaning standards are achieved.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and audit requirements, including HACCP, BRC and GMP standards.
• Maintain audit-ready standards and support internal, customer and third-party audits.
• Conduct hygiene risk assessments and implement corrective actions where required.
• Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement preventative measures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hygiene performance and reduce contamination risks.

• Strong understanding of health & safety, quality systems and cost control.
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Food Hygiene qualification.
• HACCP Level 3 qualification.
