Job summary

The Compleat Food Group in Nottingham is seeking a Hygiene Manager to lead day-to-day hygiene operations and a skilled team. You will ensure compliance with legislation and customer requirements while driving strategic hygiene improvements across a fast-paced food manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Hygiene Manager or similar role within the food industry.
• Experience with people management, either at a supervisory or management level.
• Level 2 & 3 Food Safety & Hygiene required.
• ESOL Level 2 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles.
• Understanding of microbiology testing procedures.
• Knowledge of BRC standards and quality management systems.
• Good working knowledge of products, processes and cleaning in a fast-moving food environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day hygiene operations and pest management across the site.
• Lead, train, and develop the hygiene team, including succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, TCFG hygiene standards, and customer requirements.
• Develop and implement strategic hygiene plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement new systems, technologies, and ways of working to enhance hygiene practices.
• Support audits, inspections, and pre-audit preparations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Technical, Engineering, Procurement, etc.).
• Control and manage the hygiene department budget.
• Support product process and design from a hygiene perspective.

Your Duties Will Include:
