Job summary

Henderson Brown is seeking a Hygiene Manager for a leading food production operation in Normanton, West Yorkshire. The role leads the Night shift Hygiene Team, delivers robust hygiene programs, and drives continuous improvement across safety, quality and legality policies.

The successful candidate will have Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to implement new processes with effective training and mentorship of staff.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP certification required.
• Experience in hygiene management in food manufacturing.
• Ability to implement new processes and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan nightly hygiene schedules and deep cleans.
• Lead and mentor the Hygiene team.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive SMART actions.
• Maintain CICs, SDS and procedures; ensure training.
• Carry out verification swabbing and cleaning validations.
• Represent Hygiene during customer visits/audits.
• Assist with implementation of food safety, quality and legality policies.
• Investigate and action micro/allergen out-of-spec results.

Salary: GBP55000 - GBP66000 per annum + Car Allowance £4,000

Nights

£66,000 per annum

Up to 20% annual bonus

Sunday – Thursday 2200 - 0700

• Create and improve the planning and co-ordination of nightly hygiene schedules including clean as you go and deep cleans.
• Lead and manage the Hygiene team, with mentorship and training.
• Effective root cause analysis to drive SMART actions, leading to improved overall results to improve hygiene standards.
• Maintain CICs, SDS and procedures, ensure that training is carried out.
• Carry out verification swabbing and cleaning validations.
• Represent the Hygiene function during customer visits / audits.
• To comply with and assist with implementation of company food safety, quality, and legality policies as they relate to the role.
• Investigating and putting corrective actions in place in reaction to micro or allergen out of spec results from technical.

Requirements Hygiene Manager

• Trained to Level 3 in Food Safety & HACCP.
• Chemical awareness training.
• Hygiene management experience within food manufacturing.
• A problem solving approach and solution led style.
• Commutable distance from Normanton, West Yorkshire.
