Job summary

SSE Renewables Hydro operates across eight schemes in Scotland, with a base Killin/Lochay Power Station. The Hydro Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Maintenance Engineer will ensure availability and maintenance of hydro stations, supporting reliability and safe operation.

Qualifications

  • HND in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities with written analysis.
  • Understanding of hydroelectric machinery and interdependent systems; prior experience preferred.
  • Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, testing and resolving defects on hydroelectric plant and equipment.
  • Completing maintenance reports and logs on time per quality requirements.
  • Ensuring planned maintenance is completed on time based on engineering principles with safety at the forefront.
  • Providing technical support to stakeholders including first responders, project teams and control room staff.
  • Identifying, managing and implementing plant reliability and upgrade projects.
  • Attaining and maintaining Safe Systems of Work authorisation.
