Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking a Multi-Skilled Fitter at Killin Workshop, near Killin, Perthshire. The role involves electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and support for civil works.

You will perform routine inspections and contribute to project activities, maintaining high standards of equipment performance. Applicants should have a relevant craft qualification (NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent), be fluent with maintenance software, and be able to work outdoors in all weather,

Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-skilled craftsperson or similar role with practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical generation equipment.
• A recognised craft apprenticeship or equivalent qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds.
• Good IT skills and ability to use maintenance scheduling and reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance and support civil works within competence.
• Respond quickly to equipment faults and perform fault-finding to resolve issues.
• Support day-to-day repairs, rectification activities and project work.
• Complete routine inspections and checks to maintain high equipment and fixed-plant standards.
• Identify defects and report and carry out risk assessments with safety checks.
• Undertake training to operate and isolate fixed generation plants when required.
