Job summary

Engineering Connect in Blackburn, Lancashire is recruiting a Mechanical Assembly & Test Technician for a hands-on role in a well-established engineering manufacturer. You will assemble hydraulic cylinders from drawings, check tolerances, diagnose faults and test performance to ensure quality.

The position requires a strong mechanical background, with reading drawings, fault finding, and the ability to work accurately. Hydraulic experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical assembly, fitting or hydraulic experience.
• Strong mechanical background and hands-on ability.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Hydraulic cylinder experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assembly of hydraulic cylinders from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Checking measurements and tolerances during assembly.
• Fault finding, diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs.
• Pressure testing hydraulic cylinders to check for leaks and correct operation.
• Setting up and operating hydraulic test equipment.
• Ensuring finished products meet the required quality standards.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
