Job summary

Specialist SEND Group is seeking an Outreach Youth Mentor to support young people with barriers to education. You will deliver mentoring sessions at home, in the community, and onsite, building trusted relationships to boost confidence and independence.

The role combines outreach support with on-site work, focusing on emotional wellbeing, progression into education or employment, and safeguarding the welfare of learners.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
• Safeguarding training Level 3 or above.
• 2+ years’ experience with young people in education/youth settings.
• Experience supporting wellbeing and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring in homes, community settings or onsite.
• Build positive relationships with young people and families.
• Support emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience.
• Help learners manage challenges and develop positive behaviours.
• Use creative, individualized approaches to engagement.
• Support SEND, SEMH needs, and barriers to education.
