Job summary

Driver Hire Bedford and Huntingdon is seeking a reliable Van & Warehouse Operative to support a client near Wincanton. You will drive a long wheelbase van with a tail lift, collect items, and bring them back to the depot. Manual handling and physical work are required.

In the warehouse, you will sort stock, organise returns, and assist with various collections. The role offers ongoing work with weekly PAYE, holiday pay, and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Be over 25 due to insurance requirements.
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ commercial driving experience.
• Be confident driving a long wheelbase van.
• Be comfortable with manual handling.
• Be flexible and willing to complete driving, warehouse and general support tasks.
• Have a reliable and professional attitude.
• Be happy working in a physically demanding role.

Responsibilities

• Drive a long wheelbase van for collections and depot returns.
• Load and unload goods using a tail-lift vehicle.
• Manually handle items when required.
• Return collected items safely to the depot.
• Sort old stock and organise collections in the warehouse.
• Support with basic computer and office tasks during busy periods.
• Assist the wider team with general duties as needed.
