Job summary

1st Central is seeking an Associate Underwriting MI Analyst to join our Haywards Heath, West Sussex team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will help create and deliver high-quality management information and performance reporting to support business decisions.

The role requires strong numerical and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and SQL, and experience with Power BI. Hybrid working balances home and monthly office collaboration in Haywards Heath.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in a numerical discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful insights.
• Strong IT and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and SQL. Experience with Power BI, or a similar data visualisation platform, is highly desirable. Exposure to Databricks would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience in data modelling, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to a range of audiences.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing reliable and robust analysis.
• A proactive and curious approach to learning, with the ability to quickly develop new skills, knowledge, and technical expertise.
